The soaring demand for local food banks is proof that “Bidenomics” is wreaking havoc on working-class families, hitting them where it hurts most – their empty stomachs. Jackie DeCarlo, chief executive of the Manna Food Center, revealed that they were experiencing an unprecedented surge in demand for their services. The numbers speak for themselves, with Manna Food Center providing food to a whopping 5,781 families in October, shattering previous records set during the pandemic.

Meanwhile, Food for Others, another local food bank, saw a jaw-dropping 30 percent increase in food distribution in 2023 compared to the previous year. The strain on resources is evident as they serve about 200 to 250 people on a daily basis. The Capital Area Food Bank didn’t escape unscathed either, with a staggering 31 percent surge in food distribution since July 1st, according to president and CEO Radha Muthiah.
The impact of soaring inflation is undeniable, as highlighted by a report from the Capital Area Food Bank, which found that 32 percent of locals struggled to put food on the table in 2023, compared to 33 percent in 2022. These numbers are no joke, folks! For example, single mother Katherine Charles shared her struggles, emphasizing how Biden’s inflation has made it increasingly difficult for her to provide for her family.
