Again, dozens of Democrats are trying to get President Biden to do what they want and tell him what to do about foreign policy. Even though they can't agree on how to react to Hamas's recent attack on Israel, they have the nerve to ask him to be tougher on Iran. Strangely, the Democrats are split down the middle when it comes to fighting terrorists.

Over 60 Democrats from both parties wrote a letter saying that Iran needs to be held responsible for giving money to Hamas and other Islamic terror groups. They want the government to do everything possible to cut off Iran's sources of income. But let's be honest: this is just political showmanship. We all know that Biden has been carrying on Obama's bad strategy of "detente" with Iran. It's not a surprise that Republicans are saying he helped Hamas attack by letting Iranian assets go free. Even if our president says it's not true, deeds speak louder than words.
The Democrats who wrote the letter also want more sanctions against Iran and limits on the oil trade between Iran and China. They also want to put more restrictions on Iran's weapons. Luckily, Biden gave in to their demands and put the restrictions back in place on Wednesday. Let down by his own party, it's really sad to see him give in instead of standing up for American interests.
This whole situation only shows how deeply divided the Democratic party is. The Democrats in the middle want Biden to be tougher, but the extreme left Democrats want him to stop being soft. Progressives are called out in the letter for calling for a cease-fire between Israel and Gaza before it was time. Doesn't that sound like the left all the time? We are always in a hurry to make peace with terrorists instead of standing strong with our friends. There's a reason why the letter warns against de-escalation: it would only help the terrorists and put the lives of innocent Israelis in danger.
Even though he is under a lot of heat at home, Biden has shown some support for Israel. He just recently went to the country to show that he cares about its safety and stability. He turned down calls for a cease-fire because he knew that it would only give Hamas more power. On the other hand, he told Israel to be careful about how it responds to the attacks, especially when it comes to Palestinian people. The President has to find a fine line, and I hope he continues to put the safety of our Israeli allies first.
Rep. Rashida Tlaib, the only Palestinian in Congress, will always find a way to make things political based on her identity. After an attack on a hospital in Gaza that killed many people, she had the nerve to blame Biden for not helping to stop the fighting. Okay, Tlaib. Asking for a cease-fire is not the answer. You need to understand that attackers should be punished, not made happy. The people of America will remember where Biden stood, not just Muslims. They will remember that he was strongly against terrorism and stood with our friends.
This message from the Democrats won't make a big difference in the end. They will get what they want, and Biden will unwillingly give in. Iran will also keep funding terrorism. This is yet another example of how weak the left is when it comes to foreign policy. There needs to be real leadership from conservatives to keep America safe and protect our friends.
