According to a source within CBP, the United States is dealing with yet another crisis at the southern border. It has been reported that nearly 100 Syrian and 50 Iranian nationals have been apprehended by the Border Patrol since the beginning of October. This influx of Special Interest Migrants is extremely concerning, especially given the ongoing turmoil in the Middle East.

The arrests of these Syrian and Iranian migrants have taken place in various sectors along the southwest border, with the most recent one occurring near Eagle Pass, Texas. The fact that these individuals are coming from countries that have recently been the target of U.S. air strikes is even more alarming. It seems that there is little to no advance intelligence warning about these arrivals, leaving border patrol agents to figure out who they are and why they are coming.
What’s even more concerning is that there have been 11 apprehensions of Special Interest Migrants from Middle Eastern countries in just one sector within a single week. The majority of these migrants are single adult males, and both Syria and Iran are subject to travel warnings by the U.S. State Department due to terrorism and other security threats.
Despite the lack of intelligence indicating a known threat, these migrants are generally released into the United States to pursue asylum claims. This raises serious concerns about the vetting process and the potential risks that may be associated with allowing these individuals into our country.
It is essential that the Biden administration takes immediate and decisive action to secure our borders and properly vet those who are trying to enter the United States. The safety and security of American citizens should always be our top priority. We cannot afford to ignore the potential risks posed by Special Interest Migrants, especially from countries that are known to have ongoing conflicts and security issues.
