In a fiery interview on Fox News Sunday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott let loose on President Joe Biden, accusing him of manipulating immigrants as “political pawns” to appease the far-left Democrats. Abbott, who recently paid a visit to New York City, where an overwhelming 157,000 immigrants flocked between 2022 and 2023, according to Mayor Eric Adams, did not hold back in targeting the President for his lax immigration policies.
The Governor wasted no time in calling out Biden’s open-border stance, asserting that it’s the President who’s using illegal immigrants to win brownie points with the ultra-leftist faction of the Democratic Party, even at the expense of the country’s well-being. Abbott didn’t shy away from pointing fingers at figures like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, suggesting that Biden’s policies are aimed at wooing their support.

In a direct jab at the Big Apple, Abbott highlighted how Texas has shouldered the burden of illegal immigration, with over 506,500 immigrants nabbed by local law enforcement since the launch of Operation Lone Star in March 2021. Although New York City has taken in a whopping 40,600 immigrants shipped from Texas since August 2022, Abbott made it evident that the Lone Star State has done more than its fair share.
The Governor proudly touted Texas as the frontrunner in job creation, emphasizing the state’s exceptional economic growth. He attributed the plummeting illegal immigration rates in Texas to the robust resistance his administration has mounted. Abbott crowed that illegal immigration in Texas had nosedived by a whopping 72%, while the state witnessed an unprecedented surge in job opportunities and economic expansion, effectively debunking Biden’s failed immigration policies.
Despite the legal battles looming on the horizon, courtesy of Biden’s Justice Department, Abbott exuded confidence in the resilience of his immigration laws. He didn’t mince words in upholding his commitment to protecting Texas from the onslaught of illegal immigrants and asserted that his policies would stand firm against any legal onslaught from the federal government.
The interview concluded with a scathing attack on Biden’s administration, underscoring the staggering numbers of migrants apprehended at the southern border, which have eclipsed 137,000 in the past month alone. Abbott didn’t fail to highlight the alarming figure of over 10 million immigrants who have reportedly entered the country illegally since Biden’s ascension to the presidency, decrying it as a glaring failure on the part of the current administration.
