In a recent poll by the healthcare policy think tank KFF, it’s been revealed that abortion has become the hot-button issue for a significant chunk of voters in the upcoming 2024 election. The survey found that about one in eight voters consider abortion to be the most important issue in the election season, following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. But wait, there’s more. The survey also found that a hefty 52% of voters think that abortion is a “very important issue but not the most important.” So, it’s safe to say that the issue of abortion is on a lot of voters’ minds these days. It’s like a political hot potato that no one wants to drop.
And when it comes to trusting someone to handle the whole abortion debacle, it’s clear that the lines are drawn in the sand. A whopping 84% of Democrats trust the Democratic Party more on abortion policy, while 68% of Republicans put their faith in the Republican Party. And as if abortion isn’t enough, contraception access is also causing a stir in the election season. The poll found that only 45% of respondents believe that the use of contraception is a secure right likely to remain in place.
