America First Legal has filed a lawsuit against New York Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan, claiming he has been playing hide-and-seek with financial disclosures since the request was made back in June. Merchan’s lack of cooperation is even more eyebrow-raising, given that the New York State Court System’s Ethics Commission previously cautioned him over political donations he made to the Biden campaign and other Democratic causes — not exactly a foundation for impartial judgment. Furthermore, the judge’s daughter runs a Chicago-based consulting firm that aligns itself with the Democrats, which just adds more layers to an already sticky situation.
