With just days to go until the disastrous Biden administration is mercifully behind us, many Americans are gearing up to bid farewell to the so-called leadership that has led the country into a pit of despair. Joe Biden’s presidency has turned the notion of “government by the people, for the people” into a full-blown comedy act, leaving many to wonder just how this man managed to get elected in the first place. As the calendar flips to January 20, the countdown to the revival led by Donald J. Trump looms large, promising a return to sanity and fiscal responsibility.
The mismanagement by Biden has been nothing short of remarkable—remarkably awful, that is. Under his watch, the Department of Justice has become a shadow of its former self, more politicized than ever. It’s baffling how the man who once accused the “corrupt DOJ” of abandoning its principles now finds himself as the architect of its downfall. With a mix of cringeworthy governance and comical missteps, Biden’s administration has not only failed its citizens but also provided ample fodder for late-night comedians, who couldn’t have scripted a more farcical presidency.

Biden’s parting gift to the DOJ is hardly a legacy worth celebrating. He may have brought about an unprecedented level of division and politicization, but let’s not overlook his son Hunter’s adventures in influence-peddling that have somehow perfect masks this administration’s blunders. The irony lies in Biden’s attempts to rally support under the banner of justice while simultaneously weaponizing that very same system against anyone who dares to challenge his family’s dubious dealings. It’s almost as if he thought nobody would notice the rampant hypocrisy that painted his administration.
Then there’s Merrick Garland, who deserves an award for delivering the most absurd farewell address in recent history. Trying to convince everyone that he has strengthened the “norms” of the Justice Department feels more like a scene from a poorly written sitcom than a serious wrap-up of a tumultuous period. It’s baffling to claim that there’s one set of laws for all when the recent years have demonstrated a startling double standard, one where Democrats evade accountability while Republicans are dragged through the mud at every opportunity.
Even among the left, Garland’s performance has raised eyebrows, with some claiming he failed to act decisively on the political theater surrounding Trump. Having once been the Democrat darling for a Supreme Court appointment, Garland’s stock has plummeted, leaving many to wonder how he became the poster child for ineptitude. All in all, as America prepares for the incoming leadership of Trump, the countdown to cleaning up the convoluted mess left by Biden cannot come quick enough. The hope is that with the dawn of a new administration, America can finally reclaim its dignity on the world stage.
