Americans Switch Off Leftist Media Embrace Financial Reality

Americans are officially opting out of the political circus, and this decision is as refreshing as a cold lemonade on a hot summer day. The beauty of living in the Land of the Free is that citizens can choose to tune out the constant barrage of leftist outrage or comical congressional blunders without any real-world repercussions. As the sun rises and sets, life continues for those who’d rather scroll through cat memes than the latest political kerfuffle.

While it might seem concerning that citizens are choosing blissful ignorance, the truth is that Americans have a knack for zeroing in on what truly impacts their wallets. Inflation is a perfect example of this. Despite the Democrats desperately trying to convince everyone that money grows on trees (or whatever their latest theory is), hardworking Americans know the truth. They can’t be fooled by the mainstream media’s spin; after all, this is their hard-earned cash at stake, and they take their financial literacy seriously.

It comes as no surprise that political show viewership has plummeted in the wake of the last election. Channels like MSNBC have watched their viewership nosedive by a staggering 54%. Meanwhile, Fox News continues to shine like the sun on a clear day, boasting a 13% increase in viewers. In fact, a whopping 72% of those actually daring to dive into cable news are now tuning in to Fox at night, compared to just 53% before the election. Clearly, Americans are voting with their remotes, and the choice is clear: they prefer the news that doesn’t feel like a lecture.

Post-election blues have been characteristic of cable news as networks become synonymous with partisan viewpoints. Those familiar with the political landscape can draw parallels from the aftermath of Trump’s election in 2016. Viewers often get disillusioned with channels once their preferred candidate is out of the picture. MSNBC certainly felt the sting when its hosts broke bread with Trump. Viewership waned, but that was still nothing compared to the fallout from their prime-time programming.

As for CNN, it’s tough to characterize their streaming and digital ratings as anything but consistently unimpressive. For a network so eager to tout its numbers, reality seems to rain on that parade. To breathe life back into their dwindling audience, one dissatisfied viewer from Nebraska offered up some sage advice: talk about actual issues instead of obsessing over Trump. It’s ironic that while celebrity political endorsements became a fad, the public remains unimpressed. It seems that after the circus that was election season, Americans are yearning for a break from the nonstop political chatter and celebrity opinions.

Americans are evidently ready to engage on their own terms. They will stay informed as much as they see fit, rather than adhering to the whims of cable news, partisan politicians, or social media influencers. The message is crystal clear: America may be built on a foundation of engagement, but when things get too chaotic, sometimes the best course of action is simply to give it a rest and kick back with a good book—or better yet, the latest thrillers about the absurdity of politics in 2024.
