Once again, the liberal agenda in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is in full swing with their generosity towards low-income individuals. In just a fortnight, 100 low-income entrepreneurs are slated to receive $528 each as part of the Guaranteed Income to Grow Ann Arbor program. It's almost unbelievable—seems like money is being handed out left and right! And who's left footing the bill? That's correct, the hardworking taxpayers.
Behind this two-year pilot initiative is the Poverty Solutions team at the University of Michigan, which has been distributing payments since January, with plans to continue on the 15th of each month. Now, low-income individuals can schedule their shopping sprees and spa days like clockwork. Kristin Seefeldt, the associate director of Poverty Solutions, argues that this is a way to recognize residents struggling to make ends meet. But celebrating with free money? What's next, a parade in their honor?

The guaranteed income is accessible to those who identify as entrepreneurs, small business owners, independent contractors, or gig workers across various industries. Essentially, anyone engaged in work could potentially qualify for this windfall. It's seen by some as a reward for idleness and a reliance on handouts. The application window closed last year, and applicants needed to be Ann Arbor residents over 18 years old, with incomes at or below 225% of the federal poverty line. Those receiving or eligible for federal assistance were likely eligible. Essentially, if you're barely scraping by and looking for government assistance, you've hit the jackpot!
This is yet another instance of the socialist, big-government agenda at play. Instead of promoting hard work and self-reliance, these liberal programs seem to foster dependency and deter personal responsibility. It's high time for hardworking Americans to take a stand and reject these wasteful government handouts!
