The relentless pursuit of Donald Trump by the Democrats has become quite the spectacle. They’ve embarked on a crusade to take him down, no matter the cost, and it’s as if they’re reading a political fairy tale. Unfortunately for them—and quite amusing for the rest of us—their tales of crime don’t stand up to reality. In a desperate attempt to portray Trump as a villain, they’ve fabricated charges from thin air with a creativity that would make a children’s book author envious. The New York business records case, for instance, felt more like one of those choose-your-own-adventure stories. However, the charges were specifically for falsifying business records related to hush money payments, and there was a conviction on all 34 counts on May 30, 2024.
Consider the case around classified documents. Here, Democrats chose to conveniently ignore their own party leader’s missteps. Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified information is no secret, yet he did have the legal authority to declassify documents as president. Of course, the Democrats gloss over other facts and aim their legal arrows directly at Trump. A bit of selective amnesia seems to be at play here, especially when it’s used to shield their own while vilifying their opponents.
Then there’s the January 6th case. Democrats have painted Trump’s enthusiastic rhetoric as some sort of dark incantation that magically led to an insurrection. However, this so-called incitement was just political speech—no different from the fiery language Democrats have used, often in much more aggressive tones, whenever it suited their agenda. It’s as if the Democrats believe they hold a monopoly on passion and conviction, oblivious to the irony of their words echoing Trump’s supposed transgressions.
And let’s not forget the spectacle in Georgia. This was perhaps the most laughable of all. Prosecutors there seemed more like the plotters in a convoluted heist movie, except the roles were reversed. In their attempt to entangle Trump, they ended up unveiling their own misdeeds. Ironic, isn’t it? When the smoke cleared, the only thing left standing was yet another example of how power can corrupt, turning those sworn to uphold justice into actors in their own courtroom drama.
Through all these sagas, one thing remains crystal clear: while every case against Trump hasn’t necessarily crumbled, they often appear as political prosecutions rather than pure justice. The Democrats’ real failure, however, isn’t in their botched legal theatrics. It’s in their refusal to understand that the American public isn’t easily fooled by their elaborate storylines—and certainly not by attempts to tailor laws to suit their partisan narratives.
