Astronauts Return Exposes Biden’s Space Fiasco and Reluctance to Credit Musk

Barry “Butch” Wilmore and Sunita Williams have finally touched down on Earth after a nearly year-long joyride in space that was more of a political stunt than a scientific mission. Stranded, abandoned, or stuck—whatever term one prefers, the fact remains: these astronauts spent way too much time orbiting the planet, all thanks to a White House that seems keen on defying logic to avoid giving any credit to Elon Musk, Donald Trump, or the Republican Party. This is just another notch on Biden’s belt of failure; he’s got quite a collection going from abandoning Americans in Afghanistan to allowing others, like Marc Fogel, to wither away in detention.

The irony of this situation is hard to miss. It took much less time for Musk’s SpaceX to secure the astronauts’ rescue than it took for the Biden administration to even consider it. While the Democratic narrative insists that the astronauts were never stranded, the national consensus is the opposite—many reputable news outlets admitted they were indeed left hanging in space. PBS, ABC, and even the BBC all backed this notion, highlighting just how out of touch some media outlets can be when defending the indefensible. Yet, MSNBC decided to carry on its farcical narrative, one where facts are merely suggestions.

What’s more interesting than their actual return is the courageous spin attempt from those up on the liberal news networks, who claimed Wilmore and Williams were just taking an extended vacation. Perhaps they received their information from a faulty time machine, since no one with a rational brain can look at the timeline and call it anything other than “a long stay in space.” Even NBC, the owner of MSNBC, appeared to suffer amnesia regarding the facts they previously established—what a tangled web of deception!

Adding more fuel to the fire, former NASA astronaut Barry Wilmore noted that Elon Musk’s claims about the Biden administration rejecting offers to rescue them were, in fact, accurate. It’s a mouthful to take in, but ultimately, it illustrates a reality where space exploration crumbles under the weight of political posturing. Wilmore’s comments also pointed to the shifting narrative surrounding the astronauts’ condition, as he appears to have partially amended his stance over time when responding to the whole debacle.

There’s little wonder why President Trump couldn’t resist commenting on this saga. His direct approach highlighted Biden’s failures in a manner that was both cutting and witty, noting how the administration’s aversion to calling on Musk meant the astronauts suffered months longer than necessary. Pictures of astronauts plummeting back to Earth aboard an Elon Musk-designed craft would have sent shivers down the spines of many Democrats who’d sooner toast to the decline of America’s space program than concede any ground to a Trump-like figure. After all, it really has been a week of navigate-through-laughter-get-it-together for the Democrats.

Americans may be tired of watching their leaders behave childishly, but the climbing list of Biden’s failings proves that the real issues might just be the adults in the room. If sending the astronauts home meant handing a bit of credit to a private enterprise, you can bet Biden would keep them orbiting indefinitely. After all, what’s nine extra months in space when it comes to preserving an administration’s fragile semblance of control?
