New York City used to be proud of being a safe city, but now it's hard for the city to deal with all the migrants coming in. The city has been begging the federal government for help, but instead of responding, the Biden administration has come up with a great idea: just send them to New Jersey. Yes, the government has talked about putting some of the 60,000 asylum seekers in places like the Atlantic City International Airport, a remote facility closer to Montreal than to Manhattan, and even a tax office on Long Island. These places are outside of the city, and the one in Atlantic City is even in a different state. That's right, New York City is putting the blame on New Jersey.
New York's Migrant Situation Is So Out of Control, Biden Wants to Send People to New Jersey

Don't worry, though, because the people of New Jersey are not happy with this crazy idea. Anthony M. Bucco, a Republican state senator, criticized Governor Phil Murphy and the top Democrats for even thinking about doing this. He said that President Biden and Democrats in Washington haven't taken immigration issues seriously, and that New Jersey can't be the place where New York City's problems go to die. Other New Jersey Republican officials also spoke out against the bill, saying they were worried about the safety and security of their state and its people.
My message to Governor Phil Murphy and Democrat leadership is clear. We must stop the Biden administration from exacerbating the humanitarian crisis that they created by passing the buck on to New Jersey from New York City.https://t.co/XElF38Vomr

New Jersey should not be in the business of cleaning up Biden’s humanitarian crisis. Issues like what we are seeing in New York City were created by foolish sanctuary city policies that blatantly ignore the rule of law.https://t.co/Nk84sGiHOT

Even the Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) is getting involved by asking Democratic legislative candidates if they are ready to house illegal immigrants and make their constituents pay for New York's mistakes. Stephanie Rivera, a spokeswoman for the RSLC, said that Biden's border policies were terrible and asked why any New Jersey Democrats would follow orders from their New York colleagues.
The way this migrant situation has been handled has shown that high-profile Democrats, like the Biden administration, Governor Hochul, and New York Mayor Eric Adams, are not on the same page. Who do you think will have to pay for all this chaos? That's right, the people who work hard. Officials in the city say that over the next three years, the cost could reach a staggering $12 billion. Don't worry, though, because the White House is on it. So, kind of. Even though President Biden wasn't at a recent meeting about the problem, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told us that a lot is going on and that the president has a lot on his plate. Isn't that good to know?
Even if you ignore the jokes, it's clear that the Biden administration and its Democratic friends aren't doing enough to help New York City. Their plan to send refugees to New Jersey is not only unfair to the people of New Jersey, but it also shows that they don't know how to lead or take responsibility. It's time for the Biden government to stop passing the buck and playing politics and do something real to solve this problem.
