Biden Administration Flounders as Trump 2024 Prep Looms

The Biden administration may be pushing ahead in full throttle, but many observers would argue that the wheels are starting to come off. While the current occupant of the White House and his aides vow to sprint through the finish line—just in time for President-elect Donald Trump’s grand entrance in January 2025—conservative critics find it hard to ignore the distinct lack of actual accomplishments over the past few years. Instead of patting Biden on the back for a job well done, they are looking back at the mishaps and blunders that have characterized this administration.

Democrats have taken to highlighting what they view as Biden’s victories, including various pieces of legislation that ostensibly signify progress. However, their claims quickly ring hollow upon examination. Any mention of Biden’s achievements feels forced and overly optimistic, especially when weighed against the current state of disarray in the economy, foreign policy, and immigration. It seems that for every fleeting “win” Democrats want to bring up, there are multiple controversies lurking nearby, waiting for the moment to crash the party.

When it comes to inflation, which Biden confidently dismissed as a mere ‘transitory’ issue, the reality begs to differ. Recently rising consumer prices have added yet another spike in the side of Democrats who thought they could escape the blame for skyrocketing costs. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen’s insistence that inflation was a temporary blip might make for a good talking point at cocktail parties, but the household budgets feeling the squeeze know better. The fiscal mess might just be the point at which voters draw the line—and the opposition party can’t wait to remind them.

Of course, let’s not forget immigration—the hot potato that the current administration consistently fails to properly handle. On Biden’s first day in office, he signed executive orders that seemed aimed at opening the floodgates at the southern border. Despite illegal crossings surging to disturbing levels, including 250,000 in December alone, the administration has persisted in downplaying the situation. If this administration needed a mascot, it would surely be a turtle slowly hiding its head in its shell. The refusal to confront the border crisis head-on has angered many Americans who see the chaos and disorder unraveling right before their eyes.

Then there’s the Afghanistan withdrawal debacle, a moment that is etched into the memories of many Americans. Biden’s infamous watch-checking during a somber ceremony brought a wave of backlash over his lack of empathy. The chaos that ensued during the hasty exit from Afghanistan still stings as the administration tries to shift the narrative and convince the public that everything was “under control.” Forgetting that image of people clinging to planes as they desperately sought safety only magnifies the dishonesty of the administration’s messaging.

Finally, who can overlook the heightened scrutiny surrounding Biden’s handling of classified materials and the ensuing investigation? While Biden’s defenders might spin it as a simple oversight by an ‘elderly man with a poor memory,’ something tells you that a different standard would have been applied had this been a Republican administration. The sheer irony of a president who promised transparency facing allegations about classified documents tucked away in various locations may not be lost on most Americans. It seems the only thing the administration has consistently delivered on is controversy after controversy—an achievement they might not want highlighted during an election season.
