Biden Administration Funnels $1.3B to Groups Linked to Terrorism

A staggering revelation has surfaced, and it’s no surprise that it’s tied to the Biden administration’s gift-wrapping and delivering over $1.3 billion in taxpayer dollars to organizations that are more comfortable with bombs than budgets. Recent reports from federal watchdogs outline a shocking trend: instead of supporting liberty or democracy, this funding has been linked to terrorism worldwide. Meanwhile, some politicians are doing their best impersonation of an ostrich with their heads buried deep in the sand.

Investigators suggest that the Biden administration has been busy dismantling crucial policies established during the Trump years, essentially awkwardly reassigning cash and resources to the very entities that threaten U.S. interests and allies. Experts note the foolishness of sending money to regions still under the control of known terrorist organizations. Yet, the Biden team seems hell-bent on doubling down, banking on the naivety that these funds won’t end up being funneled to, say, purchasing more weapons or setting off bombs—it’s almost cute.

Even less endearing is the news that a large chunk of Biden’s “generosity” has found its way to Palestinian organizations. More than a billion dollars was sent to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), which has been confirmed to have connections to terrorism. Though the Biden administration quickly reversed a Trump-era ban on funding in 2021, that ban returned in 2023 after it became undeniable that UNRWA employees had ties to the Hamas attacks on October 7. It seems that while Americans were arguing over bathroom recommendations, a few thousand dollars were being handed out to glorify martyrdom.

The Palestinian Authority (PA), which the Biden administration deemed a more palatable option than Hamas, also managed to benefit significantly. Despite bipartisan agreement in Congress back in 2018 to block funds due to the PA’s practice of rewarding terror, the Biden administration inexplicably decided to reinitiate the flow of funds. Documents unearthed in 2021 suggested that most of the money wouldn’t directly benefit the PA—which sounds more like a fine print footnote than a real safeguard. In reality, about $265 million went right to PA’s security forces—those same forces that naturally turned a blind eye while terror operations flourished.

Then there’s the small matter of the Afghanistan debacle, where the Biden administration took the art of mismanagement to new heights. In the aftermath of a chaotic withdrawal that left U.S. servicemembers in danger and row upon row of military equipment in Taliban hands, Biden’s crew still found the time to allocate taxpayer dollars to the terrorist regime. According to the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction, the administration has continued to funnel funds to so-called humanitarian programs in Afghanistan, ignoring the fact that these efforts have only bolstered the grip of a regime notorious for its disdain for women’s rights and human dignity.

As the dust settles on this financial fiasco, it’s estimated that UNRWA, the Palestinian Authority, and the Taliban raked in nearly $1.4 billion under Biden’s watch. One can’t help but ponder the true meaning of national security when taxpayer dollars flow into the pockets of those who actively oppose it. It seems a certain party is more interested in funding the enemies of freedom than in securing the values that make America great. Who needs enemies with friends like these?
