Despite concerns about President Joe Biden’s age, his advisors and the White House refuse to address the issue head-on. Even Democrats are worried about Biden’s ability to handle the demands of the presidency at 80 years old, but his team seems to be ignoring these valid concerns. During a recent interview on ABC News, Cedric Richmond, a co-chair for Biden’s reelection campaign, deflected questions about Biden’s age and instead focused on unrelated issues, like assault weapons and climate change. It’s clear that they would rather distract the public than honestly address the issue at hand.
Richmond’s attempt to shift the conversation away from Biden’s age is not only disingenuous but also misleading. Republicans are not advocating for a complete ban on assault weapons because history has shown that such a ban does not effectively prevent gun violence. As for the accusation of “banning books,” the truth is that concerned parents have the right to challenge inappropriate content in schools. It’s about protecting our children, not censorship.
Furthermore, blaming climate change for disasters like the wildfires in Maui ignores the reality of human error and mismanagement. Biden’s vacation during the fires and his self-centered response to the tragedy show a lack of leadership and empathy. It’s clear that his campaign is using these narratives to distract from the real issues at hand.
Biden's Campaign Sure Is Having a Hard Time Speaking to Concerns About His Age https://t.co/itdfDh8lPP

The fact that Richmond and other Biden supporters would rather focus on these talking points instead of addressing concerns about his age is telling. Even The New York Times, which is typically friendly towards Biden, has acknowledged that Americans have reservations about his ability to serve another four-year term. And a recent poll shows that a majority of adults, including Democrats, believe he is too old for the job.
When asked about the poll, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre failed to provide a satisfactory answer. Instead, she deflected by highlighting the supposed successes of the Biden administration. But claiming credit for job creation and economic turnaround is misleading, as many of these gains are simply the result of recovering from the pandemic.
It’s clear that the Biden campaign and the White House are more interested in promoting their own agenda than addressing legitimate concerns about the president’s age and ability to serve. The American people deserve transparency and honesty from their leaders, not deflective talking points.
