In a surprising turn of events, even Democrats are unable to ignore the reality of President Joe Biden’s actions. Despite his efforts to revive the disastrous nuclear deal with Iran, Biden has now officially notified Congress that he has authorized military force against terror groups supported by the Islamic Republic of Iran. Can Americans really trust that he knows what he’s doing?

In a letter to Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson and Democratic Senate President Pro Tempore Patty Murray, Biden explicitly named Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as the orchestrator of attacks against U.S. military forces in Iraq and Syria. He acknowledged that the U.S. had conducted strikes against facilities used by the IRGC and its affiliated groups to establish deterrence and protect American personnel. Biden claimed that these strikes were conducted with the intention of limiting the risk of escalation and avoiding civilian casualties.
However, it’s doubtful that the mullahs in Tehran were impressed by Biden’s actions. Since taking office, Biden has projected nothing but weakness. He surrendered the country’s southern border to an invasion of illegal aliens and orchestrated a humiliating retreat from Afghanistan. He even gave implicit approval to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, causing the worst fighting in Europe since World War II. And let’s not forget his pursuit of the Iran nuclear deal, which was rejected by former President Donald Trump, who understood the dangers posed by Iran.
Biden’s deal with Iran is particularly disgraceful. After years of self-abasement and humiliation, Biden secured the release of U.S. citizens held by Iran in exchange for unfreezing $6 billion in Iranian money. This is the same president who couldn’t even acknowledge Iran’s involvement in the Hamas massacre in Israel. Now, he expects the country to believe that he is a tough leader feared by the Muslims of the Middle East.
It’s clear that the U.S. is heading towards a major conflict in the Middle East and around the globe. The air crackles with news of wars and rumors of wars. Even Biden’s supporters will have trouble trusting him as a wartime president, given his age, corruption, and inherent dishonesty. This is the reality that Democrats have brought upon the country by electing Biden as the leader of the world’s only superpower, a reality that even they cannot ignore.
