In a surprising turn of events, a CNN anchor actually grilled a Biden administration member during an interview on Thursday. Ian Sams, a special assistant to the president, appeared on “CNN This Morning” and was likely expecting an easy interview. However, things didn’t go as planned.

The interview began with a discussion about the ongoing impeachment inquiries against President Biden, to which Sams vehemently denied any wrongdoing on the president’s part. He claimed that Republicans had been baselessly investigating Biden all year long, conveniently forgetting about the spurious charges that have been brought against former President Trump.
But it was towards the end of the interview that things got interesting. The topic turned to Hunter Biden’s legal troubles, and Sams was asked about the discrepancy between Hunter’s statement that his father was not financially involved in his business and previous statements made by the White House. Sams tried to deflect the question by accusing Republicans of playing semantics games, but the CNN correspondent pushed back, pointing out that the president had indeed made statements that turned out to be untrue.
