Biden Brushes Off Question on Serving Full Term, Jokes with Reporter

President Joe Biden shrugged off a question about whether he plans to serve a full term or step aside for Vice President Kamala Harris. A reporter posed the question to Biden during his visit to Philadelphia, to which he responded with a lighthearted attempt at humor, asking if the reporter had fallen on their head.

Biden, who would be 82 at his second inauguration if reelected, faced speculation about his intentions for the presidency given his age. Despite running on a platform as a “bridge” to the next generation of Democratic leaders, he decided to seek reelection rather than stepping aside for younger leaders.

Republicans, including former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and Gov. Ron DeSantis, have raised the possibility of Vice President Harris assuming the presidency if Biden’s second term were to end prematurely.
The Washington Examiner reported that Biden’s average favorability-unfavorability rating is net negative 13 percentage points, while Harris’s rating is net negative 14 points. These figures indicate that both Biden and Harris are viewed less favorably than unfavorably by the American public.

This exchange underscores the ongoing speculation and concern over the leadership of President Biden and the role that Vice President Harris may ultimately play in the future of the country.
