Under his flashy Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) repayment plan, 153,000 Americans will have their student debt wiped clean. Education Secretary Miguel Cardona gushed about how these borrowers with low balances supposedly deserve relief after just 10 years of payments. What happened to personal responsibility and honoring one’s financial commitments?
Despite the Supreme Court’s clear ruling against Biden’s grand plans, he’s once again flexing his executive muscle to cancel a total of $138 billion in student loans for almost 4 million borrowers. This is nothing short of a liberal spending spree at the expense of hardworking Americans who have managed their finances responsibly.
It’s ridiculous that Biden can just wave his magic wand and make billions of dollars disappear, all while claiming to champion the middle class. This latest move is a prime example of the left’s obsession with freebies and entitlements, paving the way for a generation of Americans who expect handouts instead of earning their keep. It’s time for common sense and fiscal responsibility to make a comeback in Washington, D.C.
