President Biden has announced plans to meet virtually with the families of Americans who are currently being held hostage in Gaza by Hamas terrorists. In a sneak peek of his upcoming interview on “60 Minutes,” Mr. Biden emphasized the importance of letting the families know that he deeply cares about their plight. “They have to know that the president of the United States of America cares deeply about what’s happening, deeply,” he said, adding that it is crucial to communicate to the world the gravity of the situation and condemn such inhumane behavior. “It’s pure barbarism,” he emphasized, vowing to use every resource available to bring the hostages back home if possible. The full interview is set to air on Sunday night on CBS.

According to White House national security spokesman John Kirby, the exact number of Americans being held by Hamas has not been determined, but he assured the public that it is less than a handful. While 14 Americans are currently unaccounted for, Kirby did not confirm whether any of them are being held captive. Nevertheless, U.S. officials are actively collaborating with Israel, Qatar, and other Middle Eastern allies to secure the release of the hostages.
President Biden, who remains steadfast in his commitment to bringing them home, assured the public that his administration is undertaking significant efforts in this regard. However, he also expressed frustration at the idea of providing detailed updates on these efforts, calling it “bizarre.” Rest assured, the Biden administration is working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the safe return of these American hostages.
