In a recent 60 Minutes interview, President Biden left no room for ambiguity regarding his stance on the Israel-Palestine conflict. He unequivocally expressed strong support for Israel, asserting that Hamas must be completely eliminated, and emphasizing Israel's right to respond to the recent surge in anti-Semitic attacks. However, he also conveyed concern for the well-being of Palestinian civilians as Israel prepared for a major ground invasion.
While President Biden implied that re-occupying Gaza would be a "big mistake," he remained resolute in the necessity of removing Hamas entirely. He acknowledged the importance of a Palestinian authority and a potential path to statehood but seemed to prioritize Israel's security concerns.
