President Joe Biden’s 2024 campaign is really trying to get a head start with their latest announcement. They’re spending a whole half-million bucks on ads aimed at putting the spotlight on former President Donald Trump and the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. The ads are set to kick off this Saturday, which marks the third anniversary of the riot. The campaign, titled “Cause,” will feature a 60-second TV commercial and 15- and 6-second ads on various digital platforms.

The campaign, focusing on Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, will only run for a week. In the TV ad, Biden himself talks about preserving American democracy and the danger posed by an extremist movement that doesn’t share the same beliefs as the majority. Biden is really playing up the fear factor, saying that we’re all being watched and that our kids and grandkids will totally blame us if something goes wrong with democracy.
But here’s the kicker: Biden’s team is worried about his support slipping among black, Latino, and young voters. They’re feeling the pressure to amp up their game and make sure people know what’s at stake in the next election. But wait, there’s more! The ads are just part of a whole plan that includes campaign events and a speech near Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, all in honor of the Jan. 6 anniversary.
Biden’s campaign manager, Julie Chavez Rodriguez, didn’t hold back when she pointed the finger at Trump and his supporters, calling them out for trying to mess with the will of the people and taking cues from dictators. She’s not mincing words, saying that this upcoming election could make or break American democracy. Can you believe it?
