In Michigan, where Joe Biden needs to do well to win the White House, things seem to be changing. Biden had been behind in polls there for a while now, but two new polls show him with a slight lead. Some people think his support for Israel after a terrorist attack hurt him with Muslim Americans in the state. Michigan had a primary where over 13% of Democrat voters chose “uncommitted,” showing Biden’s struggles there.
President Trump is also showing a lead in a recent Fox News poll, up by 3 points. Biden has tried to improve his standing by taking a stronger stance on Israel, but it’s too early to say if that’s what’s helping him. Trump has been leading in Michigan for months, but the gap between him and Biden is getting smaller.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. entering the race in Michigan could change things. Some polls suggest that Kennedy being in the race hurts Biden more than Trump. In a two-person race, Trump is ahead, but in a five-person race, they are tied. This could impact the final outcome in Michigan.
It’s uncertain if Biden’s recent gains in Michigan will last. Some voters who were unsure before may have always favored him. Both Biden and Hillary Clinton didn’t do as well in Michigan as polls suggested in the past. Trump still seems to have a strong position in the state compared to previous elections.
