President Joe Biden has decided to lead the nation in remembering the tragic events of 9/11 from all the way up in Alaska. Apparently, he couldn’t be bothered to make the trip to New York City, Virginia, or Pennsylvania like past presidents have done. No, he would rather fly some 3,400 miles away to Anchorage. Maybe he’s hoping to catch a glimpse of some polar bears while he’s there. Classic Biden, always looking for an excuse to take a trip.
But it’s not just Biden who is changing things up this year. The first lady, Jill Biden, will be laying a wreath at the 9/11 memorial at the Pentagon. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin will also be in attendance. It’s a shame that they won’t be joined by former President Donald Trump, who delivered memorable remarks at the Pentagon memorial in 2017 and 2019. Now those were true displays of leadership and patriotism.
In a stunning decision, President Joe Biden will not address the nation on September 11th to mark the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks. https://t.co/B2Iv6FTCqE

Vice President Kamala Harris will be in lower Manhattan at the National September 11 Memorial and Museum. I guess someone has to be there to actually pay their respects. And let’s not forget about Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, who will be in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, honoring the brave heroes of United Airlines Flight 93. At least someone in the Biden administration knows how to show some respect.
While it’s good to see that members of the administration are attending various ceremonies, it’s just not the same without a president who truly understands the significance of the day. Say what you will about Trump, but he knew how to honor the lives lost on 9/11. Biden could learn a thing or two from him. Then again, he’s probably too busy planning his next vacation to listen.
