In yet another striking display of President Joe Biden’s lack of priorities for the American people, Republicans are pushing back against the Pentagon’s decision to exempt Ukraine aid from a potential government shutdown. With the September 30 deadline for a government shutdown quickly approaching, partisan disputes over spending have prevented any agreement for funding the government. This move by the Biden Administration has left Republicans outraged, as they argue that it showcases Biden’s preference for foreign countries over the well-being of Americans.
Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene took to Twitter to express her frustration, suggesting that this decision epitomizes a continuation of former President Obama’s policies. Greene criticized the Biden Administration for diverting U.S. aid money to “rebuild” Ukraine instead of supporting struggling Americans. Representative Michael Cloud also voiced his dissatisfaction, accusing Biden of neglecting the needs of his own citizens while generously funding Ukraine. Abigail Jackson, the communications director for Senator Josh Hawley, deemed the situation offensive, highlighting the absurdity of cutting off services for Americans while continuing to send money overseas.
Kari Lake, a former candidate for governor in Arizona, drew a parallel between Biden’s treatment of Americans and mere “bargaining chips.” She criticized Biden for focusing on funding a proxy war in Ukraine at the expense of struggling American families.
This news further solidifies the belief that Biden’s administration prioritizes foreign interests over the needs of the American people. As Americans continue to grapple with the consequences of Biden’s policies, including financial difficulties and uncertain futures, Biden seems fixated on sending aid to Ukraine, a country with which the U.S. has no genuine stake. Representative Anna Paulina Luna accused Biden of being so out of touch that he fell asleep on a train and ended up in Ukraine instead of America, emphasizing his negligence towards leading the nation.
While the Department of Defense claims that the law allows for financial support to Ukraine despite a government shutdown, Republicans are pushing back, arguing that this decision only reinforces the perception that Biden’s administration prioritizes other countries over the well-being of Americans. It is crucial for the American people to have a leader who focuses on their needs above all else, but unfortunately, it seems that Biden’s priorities lie elsewhere, leaving Americans to suffer the consequences.
