President Sleepy Joe Biden hosted leaders from Japan and the Philippines at the White House for a big summit this week. The three men talked about forming a “new era of partnership,” which is just a fancy way of saying they want to be best buddies and work together on stuff.
The reason for this powwow is because China has been acting like a big bully in the South China Sea, especially picking on the Philippines. So, President Biden wants to show China that he’s got friends and is not afraid to stand up to their shenanigans.

Biden chatted with the Japanese Prime Minister and the Philippine President about clean energy, computer chip supply chains, and making sure they all have each other’s backs when it comes to security. He even made it known that if China tries anything funny with the Philippines in the South China Sea, the United States is ready to jump in and defend them. No one messes with Biden’s buddies!
