In a recent appearance on CNN’s “OutFront,” Mayor Rolando Salinas of Eagle Pass, Texas, didn’t hold back in his criticism of President Joe Biden and his administration. Salinas expressed frustration over the lack of communication and support from the federal government, stating that no one from the administration had reached out to him or his staff to offer assistance or address the crisis at the border. He emphasized that Eagle Pass and other border towns were facing the brunt of the president’s disastrous immigration policy. It is truly unacceptable that the Biden administration has abandoned these communities in their time of need.

Fortunately, Governor Greg Abbott of Texas has stepped up to fill the void left by the federal government. Salinas expressed gratitude for the help that Texas has provided, including resources from the Department of Public Safety and Border Patrol. It is clear that without the support of Governor Abbott and the state, these border communities would be left completely vulnerable.
Salinas also lamented the lack of comprehensive immigration reform, pointing out that a long-term solution is desperately needed to prevent future crises like the one they are currently facing. It’s a shame that the Biden administration has failed to take meaningful action on this issue, leaving towns like Eagle Pass to bear the brunt of their misguided policies.
The dire situation in south Texas is a direct result of the Biden administration’s intentional actions. An anonymous source from within the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency revealed that they were instructed to process and release the thousands of migrants crossing the border near Eagle Pass. The lack of guidance and support from the administration has only exacerbated the problem, creating a situation that is spiraling out of control.
As word spreads that there are no consequences for illegally crossing the border, the number of migrants making the journey is only expected to increase. This will undoubtedly overwhelm towns like Eagle Pass, where migrants may soon outnumber citizens. It is deeply concerning that Mexico has done nothing to address the surge in illegal immigration and has even called on President Biden to further facilitate migration. President Biden’s reckless and dangerous immigration policies have created a massive crisis, and it is the American people living in border cities who are paying the price. It is time for the administration to take responsibility and adopt a more sensible approach to immigration.
