President Biden truly outdid himself this time, folks. During a recent rally in Las Vegas, ol’ Joe claimed he’d recently met with Francois Mitterrand, the former French president who’s been shuffling off this mortal coil for nearly 30 years. Yep, you heard that right. He’s apparently chatting it up with French leaders from the great beyond now.

The fun doesn’t stop there, though. Good ol’ Joe tried to regale the crowd with a story about a meeting he had with French President Emmanuel Macron during a G7 meeting in England. According to Biden, he told Macron, “America’s back,” and then got corrected by Mitterrand from Germany – oops, I mean France – asking him, “Well, how long are you back for?”
Now, anyone with half a brain cell knows that Francois Mitterrand was France’s president between 1981 and 1995 and kicked the bucket in 1996. But not our dear President Biden, apparently. He didn’t even get the French President’s name right.
And the cherry on top? This blunder happened while Biden was warning folks about the horrors of a potential second Trump presidency. The man just can’t help himself, can he?
It’s moments like these that make you wonder if maybe his team was onto something when they’d rather have him steer clear of interviews, especially on big occasions like Super Bowl Sundays. I mean, just picture it – Biden, the man with approval ratings worse than Trump’s at this point, trying to weave in jabs at Trump and push his agenda during a high-stakes interview. The horror!
But hey, we all know Biden’s got bigger problems to worry about than who he’s supposedly hobnobbing with across the pond. His approval ratings are tanking, and with sky-high inflation, he’s got zero chance of people feeling the supposed economic revival he keeps touting. Nearly half the country is feeling worse off than they did four years ago, and it’s likely to spell doom for his administration.
In the end, it’s hard not to feel a tad sorry for ol’ Joe. He’s like the little leaguer trying to keep up with the big-league hitters. Except, there’s also the looming issue of his cognitive decline thrown into the mix. It’s no wonder he’s not exactly eager to put himself out there where he could stumble and fumble over his words again. Can’t say we’re surprised.
