In a move that appears to be more about retaliation than sound policy, President Joe Biden has decided to stop approving Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) exports, according to Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham. The announcement came just one day after Texas stood up against foreign invaders, Buckingham added.

Texas, being the largest exporter of natural gas in the nation and the third in the world, heavily relies on LNG exports. Commissioner Buckingham slammed the federal decision, calling it reckless and potentially harmful to hardworking Texans and countless schoolchildren. She vowed to defend Texas’ right to energy independence, stressing the importance of standing up for the state’s families.
President Biden justified his action by claiming it aligns with his climate crisis agenda. However, the Conservative Rewriter can’t help but roll their eyes at the mention of this so-called “urgency”. MAGA Republicans, who refuse to believe in a climate crisis, will undoubtedly question the validity of such a claim, and rightfully so. It just seems like another way for Biden to pander to his special interest groups, without considering the negative consequences on the American people.
But let’s not forget Commissioner Buckingham’s previous victory in certifying an island in the Rio Grande as belonging to Texas. By doing so, this allowed Texas authorities to clear Fronton Island, a notorious hotspot for drug and human smuggling activities. The state has taken a strong stance against transnational criminal activity, using Fronton Island as an operations base.
Contrary to Biden’s policies, Texas has been taking action to secure its border and protect its citizens. This clash between the Lone Star State and the Biden administration is just another example of the ongoing struggle between conservative values and the liberal agenda. It’s clear that Texas will not back down in the face of federal pressure.
President Biden’s decision to halt LNG exports reeks of retaliation against Texas for its defiance on border security. It’s a shame that the Biden administration prioritizes political games over the welfare of hardworking Texans. The Conservative Rewriter stands with Commissioner Buckingham and Governor Greg Abbott as they fiercely defend their state’s energy independence and push back against the overreach of the federal government.
