The trail of the $40,000 begins in July 2017 when Hunter Biden, Joe Biden’s son, demanded a $10 million payment from CEFC China Energy Co. associate Raymond Zhao. CEFC had close ties to the Chinese Communist Party, and the Bidens had previously established a working relationship with the company while Joe Biden was vice president. The money then went through a series of transactions, including bank transfers and cash withdrawals, before ultimately ending up as a $40,000 check written by Sara Biden to Joe Biden for a “loan repayment.”
According to James Comer, this entire scheme was an extortion tactic that began with Hunter Biden’s demand for a large payment. By accepting funds linked to a Chinese company with ties to the CCP, Joe Biden put America’s interests behind his own desire for money and exposed himself to future blackmail. Comer, a former bank board member, believes that even if the $40,000 check was a legitimate loan repayment, it still shows how Joe Biden benefited from his family cashing in on his name, with money from China no less.
