September was a month of mistakes and regrets for the United States, as they unfroze a whopping $6 billion dollars worth of assets as part of a dangerous agreement with Iran. The agreement aimed to release five American hostages, but instead, it only emboldened the Iranian-backed terror group Hamas to carry out devastating attacks. Surprisingly, even some Democrats are waking up to the reality of the situation and demanding that President Joe Biden reseize the funds.

Several Senate Democrats, including Senators Jacky Rosen of Nevada, Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin, Cortez Masto of Nevada, Sherrod Brown of Ohio, and the independent-turned-Democrat Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona, have put their names on a letter urging the U.S. to block the release of Iranian funds. It’s about time they start standing up for the safety and security of our allies and not blindly following their party’s appeasement agenda.
The letter, written by the gutsy Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, clearly articulates the need to prevent Iran from funding Hamas’ terrorist activities. Senator Blackburn isn’t afraid to speak the truth and take a stand against the Biden administration’s weak and misguided approach. She even highlighted the horrific massacre of Jews in Israel, stating, “This is not a time for any of us to stay silent.” Bravo, Senator! It’s refreshing to see someone who understands the importance of taking action and defending our friends in the face of evil.
In an interview with Fox News, Senator Blackburn doubled down on her stance, calling for the refreezing of Iran’s assets and the rescinding of waivers that allowed the transfer of funds. She’s absolutely right. We cannot afford to let another dollar go to Iran, especially when it’s clear that they are bankrolling Hamas. It’s time for the Biden administration to wake up and realize the grave mistake they’ve made by trusting Iran.
But the problem doesn’t end there. Senator Blackburn also pointed out that Hamas is receiving money through the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East. She revealed that this agency has employed individuals affiliated with Hamas and has even allowed them to hide weaponry in their facilities. It’s sickening to think that American taxpayer dollars could be indirectly supporting a terrorist organization.
The evidence is clear – the Biden administration’s decision to release Iranian funds has only fueled the flames of terror and put innocent lives at risk. It’s time for our leaders to prioritize the safety and security of our allies and take a stand against these dangerous actions. We must refreeze Iran’s assets, cut off funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, and hold Iran accountable for its support of Hamas. Our national security depends on it.
