Biden’s Belated Cleanup? Ohio Town Still Reeks of Neglect!

President Joe Biden will be making a visit to East Palestine, Ohio later this month to survey the lingering effects of a train derailment from a year ago. Now, one might think that the mess from a train derailment would have been cleaned up by now, but lo and behold, it seems the Biden administration has dropped the ball on this one.

According to a local resident and an environmental expert, the effects of the accident are still very visible, despite official claims to the contrary. It’s almost like the cleanup efforts have been about as effective as a cat trying to cover up a mess on a marble floor – not very effective at all.

Local resident Rick Tsai, who is so fed up with the government’s response that he’s decided to run for Congress, didn’t hold back when talking to NewsNation. He slammed the government, suggesting they’re either completely incompetent or up to something shady. And seriously, who can blame him? It seems like the EPA can’t find its way out of a paper bag, while Tsai could find chemical contamination with a stick in the riverbed.

And get this – the EPA has been patting themselves on the back, claiming victory over their cleanup efforts, but residents and local environmental expert say otherwise. NewsNation’s Rich McHugh revealed the disturbing truth that the contamination is still very much present, even a year after the spill. And surprise, surprise, the company responsible for the mess, Norfolk Southern, hasn’t even provided the EPA with the results of their testing and cleanup efforts. It’s like they think they can just sweep this whole thing under the rug – literally.

The Ohio EPA has the audacity to deny that there’s still a problem, claiming there’s no contamination posing a human health risk. But hold on a second, independent environmental organization Three Rivers Waterkeeper found 15 separate dangerous carcinogens in their testing near the derailment site. Are we really supposed to just trust the government and their fancy statements?

The icing on the cake is that President Biden’s administration hasn’t been in any rush to visit and see the mess for themselves. Their press secretary said Biden would visit “when it’s most helpful to the community,” but it seems like the best time for Biden to visit would be “when he is on his book tour” in 2025, according to the town’s mayor. Former President Trump visited the town shortly after the spill, along with Ohio’s Sen. J.D. Vance, and he didn’t waste any time showing support for the community.

The bottom line here is that the Biden administration has let the residents of East Palestine down, and it’s about time they step up and take responsibility for this mess. It’s a train wreck, but not the kind that can be cleaned up easily. It’s going to take some serious effort to make this right. And if they can’t handle cleaning up a train derailment, can they really be trusted to handle bigger issues? Let’s hope they can get their act together and clean up their own mess.

And that’s the way the cookie crumbles, folks.
