The core of Biden’s directive is to elevate efforts in highlighting the outlandish statements made by Trump. The president and his team seem to believe that this smear campaign is essential to paint the former President as unfit and unhinged. However, this strategy may just end up backfiring, as it would direct attention right back to Biden’s own laundry list of blunders.

Among Biden’s long list of failures are the catastrophic Afghanistan withdrawal, sky-high inflation, record-breaking crime rates, an out-of-control southern border, Middle East conflicts, and an unfathomable amount of U.S. dollars flowing into Ukraine. With this laundry list of disasters, it’s no wonder that Biden is desperately trying to divert attention to Trump’s purported shortcomings.
Ammar Moussa, the Biden campaign’s director of rapid response, shared that the focus will be on portraying Trump as the antithesis of everything Biden stands for since taking office. It’s crystal clear that the 81-year-old president has his work cut out for him if he hopes to convince voters that he’s the better choice for another four-year term.
Surprisingly, recent polls have shown that the majority of Americans trust Trump more than Biden on crucial issues such as the economy, immigration, and crime. In an ABC/ Ipsos poll, it was found that likely voters put their faith in Trump over Biden, with a staggering 12-point lead on economic matters. Similarly, Trump also maintained a significant advantage over Biden in dealing with immigration.
It seems like Biden’s attempt to divert attention away from his own shortcomings by demonizing Trump is nothing short of a desperate move to salvage his sharply declining popularity. It’s clear that Biden’s strategy to elevate Trump as the scapegoat for his own inadequacies is backfiring, exposing Biden’s own glaring deficiencies to the public eye.
