In a fiery speech from the House floor, Speaker Mike Johnson called out President Joe Biden for undermining border security and encouraging illegal immigration. Johnson highlighted 64 alarming actions taken by the Biden administration that have contributed to the crisis at the southern border. From ending border wall construction to submitting legislation for a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants, Biden’s policies have made it clear that he’s more interested in letting anyone and everyone into the country than protecting American citizens.
Not only did Biden lift restrictions against immigration from countries associated with terrorism, but he also rolled back Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” policy and placed a 100-day moratorium on deportations. His administration even suspended agreements with key countries meant to stem the flow of migrants. Johnson pointed out that these actions have led to children being kicked out of schools and veterans being displaced from nursing homes to make room for illegal migrants.

The gravity of the situation at the border cannot be overstated. Johnson noted that since Biden took office, there have been over 7 million encounters with migrants coming into the U.S. illegally at the southern border and an additional 1.8 million known “gotaways.” Shockingly, over 300 individuals on the terror watch list have been apprehended trying to cross the border. If so many have been caught, how many more have entered undetected? The number could be staggering.
In addition to the national security concerns, Johnson highlighted the overwhelming influx of fentanyl and human trafficking victims flooding into the country. He also emphasized the surge in military-age men crossing the border from adversarial nations and terrorist regimes, raising serious red flags about the types of individuals entering the country.
Johnson’s plea to his colleagues and the Biden administration is clear: “Take action to secure the border.” He called on the Senate to pass the Secure the Border Act and vowed not to agree to any deal that facilitates more illegal immigration. It’s time to stop the flow and protect American citizens.
The urgency of the situation is evident, and Johnson’s words should serve as a wake-up call to anyone who values the safety and security of the United States. The Biden administration’s “open border” policies are not only reckless but also pose a clear and present danger to our national security. It’s time for action, and it’s time to hold the Biden administration accountable for the crisis they have created at the border.
