In an impressive display of ineptitude, the Biden administration’s promised “removal flights program” to assist Panama has turned out to be as effective as a screen door on a submarine. Nearly two months have passed since the US made this grand pledge, yet not a whiff of support has materialized. It seems the only thing flowing smoothly after this promise is the waves of immigrants pouring through the Darién Gap—a natural highway for those seeking a shortcut into America.
This is not just a minor logistics failure; it’s indicative of a broader pattern. The administration’s handling of immigration has turned into a perfect storm of policy dysfunction. While the White House focuses on abstract plans and photo-ops, actual people are making the trek through treacherous terrain, dodging dangerous wildlife and human predators alike, rather than being guided onto safe flights back home as promised.

While the left might feign ignorance, the gap in action screams incompetence. It’s almost as if someone in the administration believes that saying something is enough to make it happen. Well, in the real world, one cannot merely declare a program and expect it to materialize overnight. At the same time, the international stage is already crowded with migrants desperate to transform their dreams into realities— even if it means wading through swamps and jungles.
As the US continues to sip its lukewarm coffee in Congress, supported by a liberal agenda focused more on virtue signaling than on actual results, it becomes increasingly clear that American taxpayers deserve better. They deserve a government that doesn’t just talk a good game but puts in the effort to back those promises with teeth. More than empty platitudes are required to secure borders and support sovereign nations.
In the meantime, as the crisis intensifies, conservative Americans are left wondering how many resources and lives will be wasted because the Biden administration can’t seem to manage the simplest of commitments. The flights that were supposed to be a lifeline for Panama have instead become a distant dream. At the same time, the rest of America is left scratching its head, questioning a government that seems to have forgotten the meaning of accountability.
