Biden’s Drug Plan Threatens American Innovation and Hands China Our Health

Joe Biden promised to cure cancer and slash drug prices. Instead, he’s done the exact opposite. His so-called Inflation Reduction Act didn’t bring relief—it hiked drug costs and slammed the door on medical innovation with bureaucratic nonsense like the pill penalty. Even Trump, the man Biden demonizes, sees the mess and wants to fix it with Congress. But Biden keeps doubling down on disaster.

Now, Biden’s pushing a reckless plan to import Europe’s failed socialist drug price controls through something called Most Favored Nation pricing. This isn’t just bad policy—it’s a direct threat to American patients. Europe’s price controls mean Europeans wait over a year and a half for lifesaving drugs like cancer treatments and Alzheimer’s breakthroughs. Imagine the horror of knowing a cure exists but having to wait months—or years—to get it, just because some politician wants to artificially lower costs.

What Biden and his allies like Bernie Sanders and Nancy Pelosi don’t care about is this: those European price controls killed innovation there. Europe used to lead the world in drug research, but once socialist price controls took hold, pharmaceutical companies fled to the U.S.—the last safe harbor for real innovation. Today, the U.S. churns out breakthrough medicines faster than any other country, creating millions of jobs and saving lives. But Biden’s plan would smash that success to pieces.

The real danger? This folly hands China the keys to the pharmaceutical kingdom. The Chinese Communist Party isn’t playing around—they’re investing in R&D at a staggering rate, snatching up biotech deals and clinical trials like a hungry predator. If America lets Biden’s price controls stand, we’re basically outsourcing our health and safety to the CCP. We saw how dangerous dependency on Chinese medical supplies was during COVID. Do we really want to rely on the same regime for critical medicines? Trusting the CCP with our drug supply is national security suicide.

Thankfully, Trump gets it. He’s working to keep America first in drug innovation. Instead of copying Europe’s socialist failures, Trump aims to make Europe pay for the drugs they freeload on while protecting American jobs and breakthroughs. He knows that the path to lower drug prices isn’t stifling innovation with price controls—it’s freeing up the system, cutting out middlemen, and pushing for better prevention and screening.

Biden’s ‘Most Favored Nation’ plan is a one-way ticket to pharmaceutical disaster. It’s a blueprint for handing America’s crown jewel of innovation to China and turning the United States into a nation dependent on foreign-controlled medicines. Is this the future we want? Or will we stand up for American ingenuity and health before it’s too late?
