Concerns have been expressed as to whether President Joe Biden has engaged in unethical behavior or committed crimes of his own due to investigations into Hunter Biden. Republican members of Congress and the Justice Department are presently conducting an investigation into a purported criminal conspiracy that the president's son was involved in during his tenure as vice president. In addition, he is confronted with an individual indictment regarding firearm-related charges subsequent to the failure of a plea bargain concerning tax charges.

Significantly, 35% of U.S. adults believe President Biden has engaged in illegal activity, while 33% believe he has engaged in unethical behavior that is not unlawful, according to a recent survey. An inquiry into Hunter Biden's ties to a Ukrainian energy and gas company during his father's presidency is being led by Republicans. This endeavor is being led by the chairs of the House Judiciary Committee and the House Oversight Committee, James Comer and Jim Jordan, respectively.
Special counsel David Weiss additionally indicted Hunter Biden in 2018 for the purchase of a firearm, purportedly in violation of directives prohibiting drug users from possessing firearms. Subsequently, he entered a not-guilty plea to all three allegations. In terms of political party affiliation, a mere 8% of Democrats hold the view that the president is culpable for any offenses associated with his son's activities, whereas 38% of independents hold the same opinion. Within the Republican Party, the percentage increases to 65%.
The initial hearing of the impeachment inquiry against President Biden was held by the Republicans a month ago in order to examine the pertinent legal issues. Their specific emphasis is on the international business endeavors of Hunter Biden. The procedure may be halted, however, if insufficient evidence exists regarding impeachable offenses. 39% of Americans disapprove of the impeachment investigation, while 33% approve. 67% of Republicans and 38% of independents support the investigation, compared to a mere 7% of Democrats and 7% of independents, respectively.
