President Joe Biden is clearly on a mission to secure his legacy as the most contradictory president in American history. Recently, in the wake of a tragic shooting at a Christian school in Madison, Wisconsin, he managed to elevate his absurdity to new heights—if that’s even possible for him. And how did he do that? By calling for more gun control, of course. Because why not?
Let’s take a moment to appreciate the irony here. Just prior to his gun control call, Biden pardoned his own son for a variety of gun charges that would make most ordinary citizens question their own eligibility to own a firearm. Biden’s son, who conveniently lied on a background check form to illegally purchase a gun, is now off the hook thanks to his father’s benevolence. It seems that in the world of the Biden family, certain rules just don’t apply.https://twitter.com/theblaze/status/1868788994051571815

As if pardoning his son wasn’t enough of a slap in the face to the law-abiding Americans, Biden then rolled out the usual rhetoric calling for stricter gun laws. This could be likened to a chef burning the roast and then turning around to complain about the quality of the meat. Even the most ardent supporters of Biden must have moments of cognitive dissonance when confronted with these glaring contradictions.
But a closer inspection of the shooting reveals that the call for gun control is as misplaced as a squirrel at a dog park. Schools are already gun-free zones across the nation, and the shooter in this instance was a 15-year-old girl who obviously had no business buying a gun legally. The laws, as they exist, could not have prevented this incident, and attempting to enforce more laws seems about as effective as using a butterfly net to catch a hurricane.
Rather than opening a dialogue on the societal issues that lead to such violence, Biden and his administration default to their familiar script of anti-gun rhetoric. It almost sounds as if they’ve been trained to react that way, as if there’s an internal alarm that goes off every time a shooting occurs—the “Call for Gun Control” siren, if you will. They ignore the complexities of human behavior that might lead to such tragedies, opting instead for the simplistic and knee-jerk reaction of gun regulation.
What they fail to recognize is that those advocating for responsible gun ownership and self-defense are tired of being labeled as the villains in this tragic narrative. So, while the president continues to bumble through his attempts at political discourse, the sane members of society can only laugh at the irony and hypocrisy he displays, wondering how on earth he managed to get this far in politics without anyone pointing out the glaring contradictions in his logic.
