The United States has been giving weapons to Ukraine to help them fight against Russia for over two years. President Joe Biden recently made a decision that some people think could make things more dangerous.
Biden said it’s okay for Ukraine to use American weapons to attack Russia. The rule is only for defending Kharkiv, the second biggest city in Ukraine. Kharkiv is very close to Russia and Russian soldiers have been moving closer to it.

It was mentioned that the U.S. will not allow Ukraine to launch long-range attacks into Russia using certain weapons. A Kremlin spokesperson accused NATO, a group of countries including the U.S., of making things worse with Ukraine. The spokesperson said the U.S. and NATO are trying to keep the war going.
NATO’s leader, Jens Stoltenberg, disagreed with the Kremlin’s statement. He thinks Ukraine should be allowed to defend itself with better weapons. Stoltenberg said helping Ukraine doesn’t mean NATO is joining the fight.
In the conservative view, it’s important to support allies like Ukraine against aggressive countries like Russia. Giving them weapons to defend themselves is the right thing to do. It’s a tough situation, but standing up for freedom and democracy is always the right choice.
