Today, critics of President Joe Biden’s open borders policy are up in arms over his administration’s description of illegal immigrants as “newcomers.” The White House has released details of proposed comprehensive border legislation, which includes $1.4 billion in funding for cities and states providing services to illegal immigrants and expediting work permits for those who qualify.

The House GOP caucus wasted no time in criticizing the administration’s use of the term “newcomers,” tweeting, “The Biden White House is now referring to illegal immigrants as ‘newcomers.’ Joe Biden is not serious about stopping the illegal immigration into the United States. This is a catastrophe by design.”
Republican Rep. Tom Tiffany of Wisconsin chimed in, calling the administration’s choice of words “ABSURD” and accusing Biden of having no interest in ending the “invasion” of illegal immigrants, but instead wanting to use taxpayer dollars to support it.
Charlie Kirk of Turning Point didn’t hold back either, attributing the brutal murder of a nursing student to a “newcomer” and claiming that the government “hates” Americans.
Senator Mike Braun of Indiana highlighted the administration’s focus on spending taxpayer money on illegal immigrants, while columnist Tammy Bruce referenced George Orwell’s view, stating, “Mr. Orwell is not surprised. ‘A White House handout refers to illegal immigrants as ‘newcomers,’ which provoked sharp criticism from Republicans.’”
Notably, former President Donald Trump is also heading to the border to condemn Biden’s reversal of his strict border policies.
Gallup reports that the increasing wave of violent crimes allegedly committed by illegal immigrants has made border security the top political issue in the nation. With the 2024 elections on the horizon, the debate over immigration and border security promises to remain a hot-button topic.
