Biden needs a clean sweep of these states, where Trump currently holds the edge. If Trump takes just one of these battlegrounds, Biden’s campaign could very well be over. Pennsylvania, long a graveyard for Republican ambitions, might ironically be Trump’s best bet this cycle. According to The Cook Political Report, six states have shifted towards the GOP, and Pennsylvania tops the list. Both Democratic and Republican polling firms show that post-debate, Trump’s lead over Biden has ballooned from four to ten points.

Politico’s recent report revealed that New York Democrats are practically mainlining Pepto Bismol in response to the latest polling. There’s real panic about New York, a state Biden carried by a whopping 23 points four years ago, now teetering on the edge of becoming a battleground. This revelation has Democratic officials in a frenzy, urging the Biden camp to divert resources to what should be safely in their column. They’ve got good reason to worry: private polls from swing districts in New York show Trump edging Biden by a hair, and even public polls have shown Biden’s lead shrinking to a mere 8 points.
The alarm bells have been ringing for nearly a year, yet the Biden administration remains woefully tone-deaf. In a telling sign, Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine finally admitted that New York is turning into a battleground state. The Siena College poll in June placed Biden only eight points ahead of Trump, and worse still, just 28% of independent voters are backing Biden’s reelection, with a staggering 71% disapproving of his performance. Yet, this drumbeat of doom fails to penetrate the thick walls of Biden’s inner circle, who cocoon him in an echo chamber of false narratives about his health and electoral strength. Any aide daring to present a more sobering picture risks career decapitation. Meanwhile, Democrats’ 2024 hopes are sinking faster than the Titanic, largely thanks to their captain steer-leading them straight into the iceberg.
