In a recent address at the White House, President Joe Biden revealed that a Senate bill, supported by Senators James Lankford (R-OK), Chris Murphy (D-CT), and Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ), is merely a precursor to pushing for amnesty for millions of illegal aliens through Congress. Biden commended the bill, which aims to expand overall immigration to the United States by codifying his parole pipeline, a system that has allowed hundreds of thousands of border crossers to be released into the country’s interior. The bill also seeks to increase legal immigration to the U.S., despite the fact that Biden has already overseen the largest foreign-born population in American history, with nearly 50 million foreign-born residents.

Biden did admit that the bill falls short of his ultimate goal, stating, “[The bill] doesn’t address everything I wanted. For example, we still need to pass documentation for people that are already here.” This statement makes it clear that the true intention of the Democrats and the business lobby is to push for amnesty for the 11 to 22 million illegal aliens currently residing in the U.S. Biden specifically mentioned his desire for “permanent protections and a pathway to citizenship for young DREAMers.”
It is important to question the motives behind such a bill. Amnesty for illegal aliens would inevitably result in an influx of cheap labor, driving down wages for American workers. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has previously confirmed that immigration negatively impacts the wages of low-skilled workers in the country. Furthermore, an amnesty would also contribute to the increased demand for housing, leading to inflated home prices that would be burdensome for working and middle-class Americans.
It is clear that Biden’s support for this Senate bill is a strategic move to gradually achieve his ultimate goal of amnesty for illegal aliens. As a conservative, one must consider the long-term consequences of such a policy and advocate for secure borders and enforceable immigration laws that prioritize the interests of American citizens.
