In an alarming turn of events, poverty rates have surged under Joe Biden’s leadership, leaving his re-election bid in a less than desirable position. It begs the question – is Bidenomics really working? Unfortunately, it appears that Biden hasn’t quite cracked the code for solving the crippling inflation crisis. Economic growth reports, filled with their own brand of fictitious math, fail to inspire confidence. And to top it off, we have a looming real estate crisis that threatens to rock the foundation of our economy. But here’s the kicker – Biden seems to have gotten the work-to-vacation ratio all wrong. Four days off for every one day of work? That’s not how you run a country.
Even when disaster struck Maui and wildfires ravaged the land, Biden thought it best to squeeze in not one, but two vacations before finally gracing us with his presence. Talk about priorities! And while he was kicking back, the poverty rate in America reached new depths (thanks to ABC News for the scoop):
According to the Census Bureau, the poverty rate in the United States saw its first increase in 13 years. In 2022, the rate skyrocketed to 12.4%, a staggering 4.6% rise from 2021. This data comes from the Supplemental Poverty Measure (SPM), which takes into account government programs and tax credits designed to assist low-income families. It is clear that the expiration of pandemic assistance programs, including tax credits and stimulus payments, led to this surge in poverty.
The most heart-wrenching part of this story is that children have been hit the hardest. The child poverty rate more than doubled from 5.2% in 2021 to 12.4% last year, as reported by the census. This increase directly correlates with the end of the child tax credit expansion on December 31, 2021.

And what does Biden do amidst all this chaos? He tries to shift the blame onto Republicans. Sorry, Mr. President, but Democrats controlled Congress for your first 100 days. Your approval ratings are drowning in the low 40s to high 30s range, and a significant number of Americans feel that we’re heading in the wrong direction. It’s clear that Bidenomics, a messaging campaign that never had a fighting chance, has failed to deliver any tangible economic benefits. The only economic gauge that is accurately reflecting the reality on the ground is the surge in poverty under Joe’s watch.
It’s time for Biden to wake up from his vacation-induced slumber and start getting serious about addressing the economic challenges facing our nation. The American people deserve better than empty promises and a president who seems more interested in savoring his time off than actually doing the work. It’s time for a change, and it starts with holding our leaders accountable for their failures. Let’s bring in competent leadership that can steer us back on the right track and keep the prosperity of the American people at the forefront.
