Bowman’s stance on the Israel-Hamas war has sparked outrage among his Jewish constituents, who are deeply unhappy with his consistent criticism of Israel’s actions in the ongoing conflict. As a result, a coalition of pro-Israel groups is throwing their weight behind George Latimer, a vocal advocate for Israel.
Enter Westchester Unites, a group on a mission to guide non-Democratic voters through the process of changing their party affiliation so they can participate in the Democratic primary. Their website is brimming with step-by-step instructions to help those eager to switch sides.
With a rallying cry of “Anti-semitism is on the ballot,” the group is making it clear that they want a Congress member who will ardently defend the Jewish community. The message is resonating with many disheartened Jewish voters who feel Bowman has let them down.
And while Westchester Unites hasn’t outright endorsed Latimer or condemned Bowman, their ulterior motives are as subtle as a sledgehammer. By mobilizing non-Democratic voters to become Democrats, it’s crystal clear they want to see Bowman given the boot.
The clock is ticking, and non-Democratic voters have until Feb. 14 to switch teams. And just in case they’re feeling a bit hesitant, Westchester Unites kindly reminds them, “(You can always change it back).”
The group isn’t holding back on their efforts, either, reportedly shelling out big bucks for their campaign. Setting up shop in New Rochelle, they’re sparing no expense to make sure their message is heard loud and clear. The battle lines have been drawn, and the fight for Bowman’s political survival is officially underway.
