Well, well, well, it looks like Congresswoman Cori Bush (D-MN) is in some hot water! According to Capitol Hill reporter Jake Sherman, the U.S. Justice Department has quietly opened a criminal investigation into the controversial Squad member’s spending habits. How scandalous!
Apparently, Rep. Bush has been making headlines for her six-figure deal with a bodyguard who has a track record of spouting antisemitic remarks. Talk about a questionable choice of company! And to top it off, she tied the knot with another bodyguard in a super secret ceremony last year. What’s she trying to hide, huh?

But wait, there’s more! Despite her “Defund the Police” stance, Bush has splurged more than $500,000–yes, you read that right—on her security detail between 2020 and 2022. And it didn’t stop there! By February 2023, she had blown through a whopping $627,000 on security. Looks like someone’s not practicing what they preach!
To make matters worse, Rep. Bush has been using taxpayer funds to pay for her security, racking up a bill of over three-quarters of a million dollars. What happened to fiscal responsibility, Congresswoman?
And if that’s not enough, the nonpartisan watchdog group Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT) is calling foul on Bush for allegedly paying her security personnel with a mix of public cash and campaign donations. Looks like someone’s been playing fast and loose with campaign funds.
But hey, Bush swears she needs all that security because of supposed threats against her life. Can’t blame her for wanting to stay safe, but does she really need to spend THAT much dough on it? Sounds a little fishy to us!
And get this—Bush isn’t the only Squad member with some sketchy hiring practices. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) also came under fire for dishing out a whopping $2.9 million to a consulting firm run by her own hubby. Looks like the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, huh?
To add insult to injury, Bush has also got herself a Democratic primary challenger in the shape of former federal prosecutor Wesley Bell. Looks like the heat is on for Bush, and it’s only getting hotter!
