Buttigieg’s Failed Leadership: Tax Waste, Toxic Train Wrecks & Travelgate!

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg finds himself in hot water once again, as conservatives lash out at his poor job performance. Republican Congresswoman Majorie Taylor Greene didn’t hold back when she appeared on Fox Business, calling for Buttigieg’s salary to be reduced to a symbolic dollar. And it’s not just about his incompetence, she says. Buttigieg’s extravagant travel habits, including jetting around in private planes that emit harmful carbon dioxide pollution, have raised eyebrows.

Dubbed “Mayor Pothole Pete,” Buttigieg has been accused of wasting taxpayers’ hard-earned money. Greene points out that he even flew all the way to Canada to accept an award based solely on his sexuality, something she believes is outrageous. Identity politics should have no place in determining one’s qualifications for a job. To top it off, she reminds us of the infamous video in which Buttigieg pulled a bicycle out of a gas-guzzling SUV just to pretend he was environmentally conscious. A scammer and a liar, says Greene, he shouldn’t hold such a critical position in the government.

It’s not just conservatives who have been critical of Buttigieg. As President Biden’s approval ratings plummet, even some Democrats are questioning his choice for transportation secretary. Recently, Buttigieg was forced to flee the stage at a forum when climate protestors labeled him “Fossil Fuel Pete” for approving energy projects that go against their agenda. Even when Democrats defend him, it’s with empty gestures like adding female crash test dummies to car inspections.

The concerns about Buttigieg’s qualifications have become urgently important as catastrophic train derailments continue to occur. These accidents have exposed a worrying trend within the Department of Transportation, where prioritizing Environmental, Social, and Governance policies seems more important than ensuring the safety of the traveling public. Take the derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, for example, which released toxic chemicals into the community. While former President Donald Trump and his family offered assistance, President Biden failed to visit the affected area, leaving the local mayor feeling neglected.

It’s clear that Buttigieg’s performance as transportation secretary has been far from stellar. Whether it’s his wasteful use of taxpayer money, his questionable travel choices, or his focus on virtue signaling rather than addressing real issues, conservatives are growing increasingly frustrated. It’s about time he faces the consequences for his inadequate job performance and steps aside for someone more qualified and deserving.
