Rep. Ted Lieu, the ultra-left Democrat from California, has shocked everyone by actually speaking some truth for once. Lieu, known for his extreme and nonsensical views, recently called out The New York Times for its fake news coverage of the Gaza hospital bombing. It seems like even a broken clock is right twice a day!
Lieu accused The New York Times of intentionally publishing a misleading headline that falsely blamed Israel for the explosion at the al-Ahli Baptist Hospital. He criticized the paper for not waiting for all the facts before jumping to conclusions and generating clicks during breaking news. Finally, someone is calling out the liberal media for their biased reporting!
Below is today’s lead headline at @latimes. The Times simply accepts what terrorist organization Hamas said even though it’s false. This both sides journalism is factually wrong. Not only did Lieu criticize The New York Times, but he also admonished the Los Angeles Times for their coverage. He pointed out that the headline accepted Hamas’ false narrative without questioning it. Lieu urged the media to provide accurate and unbiased reporting by stating the true situation: “Rage spreads over Gaza hospital blast amid false narrative from Hamas.”
It’s refreshing to hear a Democrat hold the media accountable for their false reporting. But let’s not get carried away; this is probably just a one-time occurrence. After all, Lieu is notorious for spewing nonsense on numerous issues and peddling the insane talking points of the Democratic National Committee. Nevertheless, credit where credit is due, even if it’s only for a fleeting moment. Let’s hope this prompts others on the left to question the mainstream media’s bias as well.
