The Washington Examiner reported that last year, Capitol Police were on the case investigating a scandalous situation over on the House side. It was a real doozy, folks! There were rumors that a staffer for Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) was supposedly caught on tape, well, getting a little too cozy in a Capitol office. If that wasn’t scandalous enough, there was also throwback photos floating around showing two men allegedly getting frisky in another Capitol office. My, oh my, it’s enough to make one blush!
Now, hold on to your hats, folks, because the Washington Examiner was quick to point out that they didn’t actually see the footage or the pictures themselves. But that didn’t stop the rumors from spreading like wildfire! Can you believe it?

When the Washington Examiner reached out to Rep. Dan Newhouse’s spokesperson for the inside scoop, they were met with a stone-cold refusal to spill the beans. The spokesperson wouldn’t even confirm the staffer’s name. They did mention that there was an investigation, but surprise, surprise, no “conclusive evidence” was found. The staffer did resign a few months later, though. The spokesperson made it crystal clear that they were not about to spill the tea on any more personnel matters.
Oh, and get this, dear readers! Just to add some extra spice to the mix, it turns out that this scandal was just the tip of the iceberg. Apparently, there was another scandal just a week before over on the Senate side! Those staffers were really shaking things up over at the Capitol, weren’t they?
In conclusion, it looks like there was quite the commotion in the hallowed halls of Congress. And even though no solid evidence was found, you can bet this story will be whispered about for years to come. Oh, the scandal and intrigue!
