Chicago is up in flames, and its mayor has the gall to point fingers at President Trump, labeling him as “unstable” while his own city crumbles under the weight of violent gangs. Brandon Johnson, the liberal leader of a once-great city, is choosing chaos over law and order, complaining about Trump’s initiative to deploy the National Guard. It’s a strategy to bring back safety and stability to a city struggling with crime. But Johnson can’t see past his anti-Trump glasses to realize the solution is staring him right in the face.
Instead of being grateful for the federal assistance, Johnson is up in arms about the military presence in Chicago. He argues against “militarizing” his city, seemingly ignoring the fact that his residents are already living in a state of fear, thanks to rampant gang activity. Under his watch, nearly 300 federal agents—brave men and women—had to carry out immigration enforcement operations to tackle gang threats. This isn’t about boots on the ground against innocent civilians as the mayor blindly suggests. It’s about saving a city that Johnson is allowing to rot away because of his misguided priorities.
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson says it’s “APPALLING” that Trump is sending troops in to clean up Chicago: “This president is an unstable human being—This is not only appalling, but an egregious attempt to undermine the sanctity of our democracy.”

And where’s the outrage when it comes to protecting American citizens first? Johnson, just like his political bedfellows in the Democrat party, seems more interested in keeping the borders wide open and making Chicago a sanctuary for illegal immigrants. The Governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker, is even seeking military troops in another flip-flopping maneuver to clean up the unsafe streets. It’s hypocrisy at its finest, with liberals using federal assistance as a chess piece rather than a lifeline.
Meanwhile, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other agencies are stepping up where local leadership fails. Nearly two dozen arrests were made within the suspected gang networks—individuals who laugh in the face of law-abiding citizens as they wreak havoc. Mayor Johnson should be applauding these efforts. Instead, he’s too busy throwing a tantrum on cable news to vilify the one leader willing to take action: President Trump.
Instead of fighting against common-sense actions, Democratic leaders should get a grip on reality and actually try to protect their constituents. Who is the real unstable one here? The President who wants boots on the ground to restore safety, or the Mayor who can’t manage to keep control of his streets?
