China Races Ahead While Clueless Us Politicians Put America’s Self Driving Future in Jeopardy

America is falling behind in the race for the cars of the future, and we have spineless politicians and clueless liberals to thank. While China and other countries charge ahead with their robotics revolution, our Senate just now realized maybe it’s time the federal government set some real rules for automated vehicles. It’s about time! Silicon Valley companies like Waymo and Tesla are out there blazing trails in self-driving cars, but instead of getting support, they get tangled up in a spiderweb of ridiculous state laws. That’s right—one state says go, the next slams the brakes. It’s chaotic, it’s dangerous, and it absolutely weakens American innovation.

Why did we even end up with this mess? Because far-left bureaucrats in state capitals can’t resist meddling and making up rules as they go. They love to regulate everything except their own outrageous spending. Now, when American companies try to lead the world, they’re forced to tiptoe past a hundred state-level nannies. These so-called progressives are really just stalling progress—and putting American jobs and tech at risk in the process.

The globalists and tech elitists would love nothing more than for the United States to be bogged down in red tape. Our adversaries abroad are setting clear, competitive standards to boost their companies and their economies. Meanwhile, our own politicians dither and debate basic safety rules. These same Democrats who obsess over climate and “green” solutions can’t even agree to clear the road for the technologies that could actually move us forward.

Americans deserve real choices and safer streets, not a patchwork quilt of confusing laws from one state to the next. If Congress doesn’t step up now, foreign companies—most of whom couldn’t care less about our regulations—will steamroll us. This is more than just a tech story. It’s a fight over who controls the future of America. The left loves to talk about equity and innovation, so why are they so dead-set on keeping us a decade behind the rest of the world?

If we want the United States to win the race for new, safer cars, it’s time to stop letting left-wing incompetence rule the road. Get government out of the way, set clear federal standards, and let American inventors do what they do best—lead the world. Or do liberals want us to ride in the backseat while China takes the wheel?
